Despite negative reviews, an excellent movie!

I first saw this movie in 1998 and absolutely fell in love with it! However,I feel the B&N review doesn't do the movie justice. As the movie begins, Jack (George Burns) is celebrating his 81st birthday. On the way home from the party, he and his grandson David (Charlie Schalatter) get into a car accident. Jack wakes up and discovers that his soul has been transfered into David's body. He is faced with the tasks of helping his grandson through some difficult times on his college campus, as well as try to make his own family and friends realize that he's alive and well. As for David's soul, it has been transfered into Jack's body. Most of the acting done is by Charlie Schlatter, but I was just amazed at his accurate portrayal of George Burns, right down to his mannerisms. The movie also stars Pauly Shore as David's college buddy. Pauly Shore isn't his usual "hyper" self, but he does provide some hillarious moments. Speaking of hillarious moments, this movie has plenty. It also has a few sad moments, and some romance. I definately recommend this movie. If not to buy it, at least rent it. George Burns fans are sure to enjoy, and those who have seen Charlie Schlatter on "Diagnosis Murder" will enjoy seeing him in a different light.
