Overview

After 20 months in a Chinese prison, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) returns to the United States. But his freedom is short lived, as the U.S. government is prepared to turn him over to a terrorist group in return for the location of Hamri Al-Assad (Alexander Siddig), who has unleashed a series of nuclear bombs across the country. A broken man, physically and mentally, Jack agrees to the exchange. But when he learns that his new captor, Abu Fayed (Adoni Maropis), is actually the man behind the attacks and that his own sacrifice is meaningless, Jack lashes out and escapes. Now he must convince the president (D. B. Woodside) and the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) that the targeted Al-Assad may in fact be the only one who can end the rapidly escalating violence. The seven-disc Season 6 set includes all 24 episodes that aired from 2006-7, plus hours of special features, including: an exclusive Season 7 preview; over 25 minutes of deleted scenes; numerous cast-crew episode commentaries; more than 20 behind-the-scenes webcast diaries; "Day Six Debrief" mobile phone episodes; on-the-set featurettes, and more.

Season 6 of 24 was one of the weaker season of the series. After the end of season 5 (one of the greatest seasons of 24 and of television) Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was captured by the Chinese for invading their consulate in Los Angeles 18 months earlier. He was placed on a boat to China where he was tortured for roughly 2 years. At the beginning of season 6, Jack is returned to the USA so that his life can be traded to an islamic terrorist to stop the many attacks that have terrorised the country. Jack uncovers the true leader behind the attacks and he, CTU and the recently elected President Wayne Palmer (brother of President David Palmer) are thrown into another 24 hours of shocks, suspense, and incredible twists that are 24. The first 4 episodes of the season were released over two nights in January. Both fans and critics agreed that the 4 episodes were the greatest of 24. Episodes 1 through 10 of 24 season 6 were fantastic as we begin to see Jack's family more and more, incluiding his brother, father, sister-in-law and nephew. The seasons greatest shocks were included within the first 10 episodes of the season, including the identity of "Graem", the conspiritor that instructed President Logan during the previous season. Episodes 11-13 were dreadful. Jack enters a Russian consulate with force and tortures the consulate leader Markov. The reason this plot didn't work was because A)it had already been done B)the Russians spoke heavily accented English rather than Russian C)the actor who played Markov was stereotypical and unbelievable. Jack's plot was weak and infrequent during episodes 14-16, we barely saw the hero of the series. Also, the villian Abu Fayed, who was well acted by Andoni Marpois was suplemented by a Russian x-soviet named Griedenko. The character was boring, unconvincing and stereotypical. During episodes 11-17, CTU had become a joke, the character of Milo Pressman (Eric Balfour) was weak. Rather than considering the threat at hand, he chose to force himself upon Nadia Yassir (Marisol Nichols) forming a boring, stupid, ridiculous, cheesy, time-waster of a pot consisting of a love triangle between Milo, Nadia, and newly added character Mike Dyle. The plot was awful, reaching the lowest 24 had ever gotten. While CTU was infuriating, episode 17 brought major plot changes with the death of the villan Abu Fayed and the end of the nuclear threat. The plot then took a massive turn with the return of a character and the return of Cheng Zhi, the recurring villan that was responsible for Jack's time in China. At that point, many fans quit watching the show, not wanting to be invovled in another plot after watching the so-so climax of a boring and predictable threat. This was their BIG mistake. Episodes 18-20 were both suspenseful and at points, very emotional and well preformed. The end of episode 20 was gripping and sad for me, as I imagine it was for most viewers who had followed the show from the beginning. Episodes 21-22 were incredible, reaching the height of suspense that episodes 1-4 had. The Chinese invade CTU, killing a main character and capturing Jack's nephew Josh, leaving the viewers and I both confused and suprised. I was confused with the lack of logic behind this assult, though everything became clear and ordered when it was revealed whyJosh had been taken. The finale of the season (23-24) was weaker than other climaxes, though it cleared the slate for next season. The ending twenty minutes of episode 24 was both well written and well performed, satisfying both me and the viewers that have followed the show from the beginning. To sum up, 24 season 6 was one of the weaker seasons this show has had. However, it was still well written, well performed, and filled with many plot twists, shocks, and suspense. Those of you who have seen previous seasons will enjoy this box set and it is a great introduction to the best series on television for beginners, though I would rec

Without question, the greatest show on TV. Critics had some harsh words for this season, but they're idiots. It was awesome, just as every season has been. There is nothing on TV like this, and nothing better.

Jack was insane in this season. The plot of the nuclear war was a great idea. One flaw of the season was the the chinese broke into CTU. I mean come on... it's CTU, you can't break in to it. Jack's dad came back, and he also made a mess of things. Overall, it was a great season.

20 months have passed since Day 5, and Jack Bauer is in a Chinese Prison. In the United States, terrorist attacks have been going on for 11 weeks. A man named Abu Fayed has offered to exchange the location of the leader of the terrorists, Hamri Al-Assad, in exchange for Jack Bauer. But when Jack is under torture, Fayed reveals Assad came to stop him, and that he is the real leader behind the attacks. Now Jack Bauer must stop the terrorists from fulfilling their main goal, detonating 5 suitcase nuclear bombs on US soil. 24 season 6 was a season of exhilration and drama and was enjoyed by many fans. The show is still one of the best on TV.
