Overview

In A Fish Called Wanda, Jamie Lee Curtis plays an ambitious con artist who uses every ounce of her sexual wiles to obtain a fortune in jewels stolen by her gangster lover Tom Georgeson. First, she romances Georgeson's dimwitted but deadly henchman Kevin Kline who won an Academy Award for his performance. Then, to clear the path for her getaway with Kline, Jamie woos Georgeson's starched-shirt attorney, John Cleese -- and it's Cleese whom she genuinely falls in love with. Michael Palin, Cleese's former Monty Python cohort, plays a stuttering mob flunkey who continually messes up his one big assignment: killing a little old lady it isn't that he has any qualms about knocking off the old dear; it's just that her pet dogs ...

    more from this reviewer

    Very Smart! Very Funny!

Extermly smart educated style of funny, laugh out loud, humor.
Very well done and the interlectual wit surpasses your common "funny comedy" It is not your Eddie Murphy funny at all. If you like that kind of funny you wont like this movie, because you won't get it.
It got funnier each time I watched it, because you miss so much, the first time, due to the fact that you were laughing at something else prior, to the following punch line. Just rent it you'll be glad you did.

    Funniest comedy ever

One of my favorite films of all time-- non-stop laughs in a very low key. Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline were both wonderful, but the others were perfect as well.
