I have to agree with the first reviewer. The most compelling reason to see this film is that it was filmed in Newbury, VT. Now, the film also happens to splice in scenes from another town that looks nothing like Newbury so that when a character standing in Newbury turns to his right he sees a landscape from who-knows-where that doesn't always match the place where he's standing (note that the roads are much more recently paved in non-Newbury. Non-Newbury also has a fountain in the Common). But if you're looking for a masterpiece of suspended disbelief, don't look here. It's bad enough to be good.

This movie kicks butt!

Let's be realistic....this movie is lame. However, the majority of it was filmed in tiny Newbury, Vermont where I grew up. In fact, the school in the film (that burns up) is the same elementary school my brother and I went to. I was in 1st grade when they filmed it, because I remember everyone talking about it. A few of the 'extras' are people I know from around town, which is also very cool....and one of the houses that gets shown a lot in the movie is a house where a good friend of mine Toby used to live. WOOHOO! FYI, parts of Beetlejuice, Funny Farm, and What Lies Beneath were all filmed in VT.
