Yoga is an ancient Hindu practice that uses breathing and stretching exercises to prepare the body for the spiritual path. These exercises condition the physical body so that the mind can practice meditation without obstacles. Western society has adopted these exercises as a fitness program. With the desert landscape of Death Valley in the background, premier yoga instructor Rodney Yee has created a workout that shapes and strengthens the abdominal muscles. The 20-minute routine starts with four minutes of conscious breathing, continues with 13 minutes of abdominal yoga poses, and concludes with three minutes of deep relaxation techniques. Some of the poses may be difficult for beginners (e.g. lowering straight legs to the ground), and a rolled blanket is needed for support in angled poses.

I tend to have weak abs, and found this helpful, but hard to do. I couldn't do all of it for a long, long time. I definately see a difference after practice, however, and think it's a good yoga video.

Rodney Yee is the ultimate yoga instructor. I've been doing his yoga series for the past decade, and this dvd for abs in particular I've always found excellent both for beginners and intermediates. You definetly feel your abs working, and the results are length and tone in the core section of the body!

Very good abdominal workout for beginners...not to difficult yet challenging enough to work those muscles! After doing the tape 3X/wk for a month, I am definitely reaping results! Also leaves me feeling energized...I am still challenged by a few of those poses...

Dear Customers, ABS Yoga for beginners is usefull video for yoga fans, but not for ABS builders, which are aiming for the fast results. it does not mean that it not working as a sourse of fitness. It works. But personally, I have not felt that my ABS muscles worked for 100% percent. My muscles got the pressure, stretching, but I did not feel the tiredness as I've been expecting. I suppose that this video will keep my ABS muscles in acceptable condition, but it will not force my muscles to grow. I recommend it for peaceful, comfortable usage, when you are tired and don't able to have hard fitness video. Nevertheless, let me assure that I glad to have it. regards, Arman
