Barnes & Noble - Christina Urban
Peter Dragon (Jay Mohr) is your stereotypical Hollywood film producer: an arrogant, hard-drinking, pill-popping egomaniac who measures his self-worth by the success of his movies. Stereotypical Hollywood film producers might cry foul; but for the most part, they just cried from laughing at one of the 1999 season’s most acclaimed comedies, short lived though it was. Executive-produced by Hollywood power hitters Joel Silver and Ted ...

Stereotypical Hollywood film producers might cry foul; but for the most part, they just cried from laughing at one of the 1999 season’s most acclaimed comedies, short lived though it was. Executive-produced by Hollywood power hitters Joel Silver and Ted Demme, Action came proudly to screens for ten weeks, offering an unflinching if bleep-heavy look at the film industry. Dragon, toppled from the industry elite with his latest bomb, a $150 million stinker called Slow Torture, is sure his next big hit will put him back on top: All he has to do is find the money to back the picture, get an actor who didn't just get out of drug rehab, and try to keep from having a nervous breakdown. In fact, the ten-episode run ended with Peter having a heart attack. Thankfully, this set includes the three unaired episodes that were still in the can when Fox pulled the plug. Uncut and uncensored, this DVD may upset viewers who prefer their expletives bleeped.
