Since I got a Blu Ray PLayer Ive been waiting for the Alien Series and the wait was well worth it each film Looks beautiful with Flawless DTS sound Alien 3 Dir cut (which I find Better then the Theatrical) finally has been remastered My Favortite will always be The Original and I NEVER watch The Directors version because I know Ridley doesnt care for that version neIther do I really you can watch that footage seperatly All I can say is Beautiful Set with 60 hours of features well worth the wait for this Alien Fan
I just got through watching the entire set and let me tell you, all blu ray sets should be treated this way. The packaging for this is pretty nice. It's basically a little hardback book with the discs inside. It has over fifty hours of extras, and they are all pretty fascinating since most of these movies were pre-cgi. It reminded me a lot of the "making ofs" that came out with the original Star Wars movies. The most important factor is that they have done the best remastering they can. It still has the sort of cold, grainy look the movies always had, but the image is much clearer and works much better with modern TVs (no pixelation whatsoever). It's not true HD, which is fine because the movies weren't shot in HD. But, the image is so much clearer, and works well in large screen formats. Aside from all of that you basically get two versions of each movie. The extended directors cut of Aliens is a must see. All in all I would have to say this is about the best blu ray set I have ever bought.
