Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Brian J. Dillard
Appealingly lightweight despite the handful of "women's issues" crammed into its script, this comedy anticipated the Dead Poets Society-for-girls concept of Mona Lisa Smile by several years -- but without the syrupy sentimentality and political bombast. Writer/director Sarah Kernochan wisely casts a wide range of appealing teens, from indie stalwart Heather Matarazzo to future Hollywood it-girl Kirsten Dunst (who would later star in Mona Lisa Smile). Despite the occasional anachronism or emotional off-note in Kernochan's script, these actresses succeed in bringing the film's 1960s boarding-school milieu to life with far more charm and vigor than the film's modest production values would seem to forecast. Their den mother in this endeavor is Lynn Redgrave, essaying the comic role of a stuffy headmistress with the exaggerated aplomb of a theater person slogging her way through the indie-film trenches. All I Wanna Do may tell a familiar coming-of-age tale, but it tells it well, with young female characters whose personal quirks outweigh their origins in central casting.

This movie is one of the best movies i have ever seen. Kirsten Dunst plays a good role in this movie of the rebellion teenage girl still going through the faze of not liking the oposite gender. It was so great i'm giving this movie 4 very, very worthy stars!!

Though a total chick flick, one of the best movies I've seen. When Odie gets sent off to an all girls school, she is angry that she will be away from her boyfriend Dennis. But her experience at Miss.Goddard's cause her to change her mind... so when they announce they will be admitting boys the next year Odie is the first to petition ''NO!''

EVERY teenage girl must see this movie! I bought this for my 14-year old niece. When I first saw it, I laughed myself sick, and I'm a MAN. For all you girls out there reading this: Don't get caught up in that stupid mindset of thinking that you need a man to support you! Be independent. Find yourself. Go to college. Get an education. You can't rely on anyone else to make you happy, as true happiness comes from within. A good relationship is one where you compliment your partner, NOT 'complete' them! This movie should be required viewing for everyone, but especially girls.

The old type girls school turned upside down. Thats what I thought when I saw this movie for the first time. Not to mention the very cute boys. The movie hand not one boring part.

This movie is very funny a really good girl power movie and it shows how in the early 60's women were looked upon as not as good as the men. All in all it's very funny.
