Alvin and the Chipmunks - The Chipmunk Adventure
Join Alvin, Simon, and Theodore as they graduate from their weekly TV adventures to the big screen in the exciting, feature-length animated tale The Chipmunk Adventure. The three boys use a clever scheme with a tape recorder to trick their babysitter, Rebecca Miller, into letting them out of the house. The Chipmunks con the woman into believing that David Seville has granted them permission to set off on a trek around the world, in pursuit of the diamond smugglers Claudia and Claus. Of course, the boys make a point to solicit help from their female friends, The Chipettes, who excitedly agree to tag along on this globe-charting odyssey. A musical to boot, The Chipmunk Adventure features the boys singing such numbers as "Diamond Dolls," and the rollicking and rousing "Woolly Bully."The Chipettes join in as well, with the memorable tune "The Girls of Rock 'n' Roll."

I was very excited to see this movie finally come out on dvd, have bought it and watched it already. It is a classic cartoon and watching it again all these years later made me feel like I was six again. Recommended...
I've been in search of this movie to come out on DVD for ages - it was one of my favorite movies of all time when I was little!
I first saw this movie when I was five years old. Every time we went to Blockbuster, it would be the only movie I'd ask my parents to rent. They had tried to find it on video to buy, but were never able to. I'm now 21, and when I saw it was on dvd, I just had to get it. It is still one of my favorites, a movie I can watch over and over never getting tired of it.
My parents tell me all the time that as a three -year-old, every time we went to the video shop, I'd ask them to hire this out for me. It got to the point where they were hiring it out so much, they actually bought the VHS from the video store for full price. Now I'm almost twenty-one, and I still watch it every month or so, being the big kid that I am. The beginning of the tape is terribly worn because of it. Even my younger sister is a huge fan, and she's fifteen. To see this on DVD is incredible - the only problem is, I'm Australian, so it won't play on my DVD player and it doesn't seem to be available here yet. Time for a multi-region player, I think. I still highly recommend it. It's simply brilliant.
I had forgotton about the chipmunks until the feature film arrived this year(2007)was more excited about a movie than I have been in years. I then realized that The Chipmiunk Adventure has probably been released on DVD and sure enough, here it is. I don't think that I have been as excited about a DVD in years!! I remember watching this over and over again under blankets while I was home sick from school...a must have for sure!
I watched this movie so many times when I was little. It was always one of my favorites, mostly due to the great music. I have all the songs on my ipod and just bought the movie on DVD. Just as good now as it was then!
My sisters and I loved this movie when we were kids, so I bought it for my daughter. She loved it as well, and when I sat down to watch it with her, I realized I still think it is a pretty good movie myself. It is fun, the music is catchy, and even though we've seen it more times than I can count, it hasn't gotten old yet.
This if a fun old chipmunk movie. The music is from the '80s so its just plain fun to sing and dance to. The plot is, of course, implausible but it is an adventure involving a hot air balloon race around the world. A race between the chipmunks and the chipettes, basically boys against girls. The adventures are fun and not scary, unless you are 2 years old. Get some popcorn adults and enjoy the music. It does teach some cooperation with others, and has a baby penguin that needs to be returned to the wild and to her parents, so some wildlife education.
