Overview

The "Stiffmeister" legacy lives on in this installment of the wildly popular teen comedy series that finds Steve Stiffler's younger brother Matt (Tad Hilgenbrinck) sentenced to a summer at band camp after a wild school prank goes awry. It seems that mischief runs in the family, and when Matt is told that he has to spend the entire summer surrounded by trombones and clarinets, he plans a serious of outrageous pranks in a bid to make the best of his nerdy new surroundings. As the summer and the hormones heat up, Stiffler sets up a series of hidden cameras in hopes of catching some revealing images of the nubile "bandies." When Stiffler reconnects with his long-lost childhood sweetheart, Elyse (Arielle Kebbel), while serving out his sentence, the blossoming romance between the pair forces the perpetual prankster to consider the prospect of curbing his bad-boy ways. Original American Pie star Eugene Levy returns to offer some helpful advice for the band-camp bound Stiffler sibling.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Ed Hulse
This one could just have easily been titled American Pie: The Next Generation, because instead of revisiting the original characters it offers a new group of sex-crazed teen misfits. The nominal protagonist is Matt Stiffler (Tad Hilgenbrinck), younger brother of the character played in the first three films by Seann William Scott. Like his older sibling, Matt is a bit of a troublemaker, and when a pepper-spray prank goes bad he gets "sentenced" to a term at Band Camp -- where, presumably, geeky goody-two-shoes types will surround him. Of course Matt isn't all that mean-spirited, and despite such predictable outrages as mounting spy-cams in the girls' shower and lacing drinks with, ahem, bodily fluids, he emerges from the experience having learned valuable life lessons. Eugene Levy provides the one link to earlier series entries by reprising the role of Mr. Levenstein (Jim's father). Newcomer Hilgenbrinck offers a carbon copy of Scott, and other similarly unknown performers do their best with the crude humor served up by the script. Needless to say, the band geeks turn out to be a lot cooler than anybody suspected, and in the end Matt learns that one can find a soul mate in the unlikeliest places. Not exactly Oscar material, Band Camp supplies exactly what is expected of it, and fans of this popular franchise won't be the least bit disappointed.

Not that I was looking forward to a straight to DVD release of an unnecessary movie, but I actuallt enjoyed it. Sure, it was corny and couldn't compare to the revolutionary first three, but the lead actor had charm and there were about 5 really witty, original lines. The rest was your average titty-movie

This movie has the be the biggest waste of film in the history of motion pictures. They should take all the actors in this movie and shoot them, because none of them should ever act again!

An unfortunate perversion of the great American Pie series. You can tell the studio was in for making some quick cash because this movie is simply not funny. It does not have the heart of original 3 movies. An excuse for adolescent boys to see some quick nudity, it's no wonder none of the original cast returned (except for Eugene Levy, who does any movie if there's a paycheck for him).
