America's Sweethearts

Overview

Love and romance are in full bloom in the Hollywood romantic comedy America's Sweethearts. Columbia has done a nice job on this 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Like the stars of Hollywood itself, this picture shines bright with almost no imperfections anywhere on the transfer. The colors and black levels all look even and bright while the fleshtones look natural and well-rendered. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 as well as Dolby 2.0 Surround in English.

This 5.1 soundtrack is very nice, though somewhat subdued. There are a few instances where the surround sound feature was engaged, though the overall quality of this track is very subtle. All aspects of the dialogue, music, and effects are free of any excessive distortion. Also included on this disc are English and French subtitles. America's Sweethearts includes only a scant few extra features. The first is five deleted scenes with optional commentary by director Joe Roth. None of the scenes are overly interesting, and the director's comments seem to be very short and brief. Also included on this disc are some thin production notes and theatrical trailers for the movies America's Sweethearts, My Best Friend's Wedding, and The Mask of Zorro.

    Very Good

Personally I thought this was a great movie and Julia Roberts is one of my favorite actresses. She didn't do as good of a job as she did in My Best Friend's wedding, but she still did well. America's Sweathearts is a great movie and I deffinately recomend it for ages 12 & up.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julia Roberts, John Cusack, and Billy Crystal really show you a good time as you laugh your way through this hilarius romantic comedy.

    Julia, Billy, and Catherine:Oh YES!

America's Sweethearts is about Lee (Billy Crystal) must put ex-on scren lovers Gwen Harrison(Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Eddie Thomas(John Cusack) back together for their upcoming movie. But Lee needs help, so he all up Gwen's sister and assistant Kiki Harrison (Julia Roberts). Kiki, who just lost 60 lbs., now falls in love with Eddie and gets tired of her sister. And Gwen's lover now wants Eddie out of the picture. Who will win? Will anyone win?
