Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
From the friendly and affectionate meerkat to the loathsome hyena, this captivating 1974 Golden Globe Award-winning documentary by the director of The Gods Must Be Crazy offers "a treasure house of animal life." Fascinating wildlife footage, wry narration, sparing use of comical sound effects, and familiar classical melodies are utilized to chronicle how animals adapt to the harsh African desert. There are some "circle of life" moments, but none too graphic or upsetting to upset young animal lovers.

    Spectacular! Animal Documentary

Similiar to the classic ''Walt Disney'' wild animal documentaries, ''Animals are Beautiful People'' is a side-grabbing, can't stop laughing, spectacular true-to-life movie. Containing all Non-rehearsed scenes from exotic animals in the wild with human narration in the background, this animal behavior documentary brings to life how ''human'' animals really can be. From jealous monkeys, to drunk rhino's, you'd never believe it if you hadn't seen it with your own eyes! For adults as well as children, this is a movie everyone should see.

BRILLIANT and HILLARIOUS - A MOVIE FOR ALL AGES

I have wanted this movie for my personal library since first seeing it in the mid-80's. This is a truly brilliant movie that anyone from the age of 1 to 100 will enjoy. The quality of this movie coupled with the antics of the animals in their natural habitat, makes this a movie that you can share with your children.

Brilliant and hillarious. All ages will appreciate this film.

This is a brilliant, hillarious and informative film on the wonders of animals and nature. Incredible wildlife footage combined with dynamic classical music favorites and clever narration, this film grips your attention the whole time while you laugh, ooh and ahhh. Since I received this film I've shown it to adults and kids ranging from age 5 to 11 and everyone loves it, laughs out loud and then wants to watch it again when it's over. Highly recommended, this is a great movie for all to enjoy.
