Overview

The first two Austin Powers' DVDs were New Line "platinum editions," but the latest, Austin Powers In Goldmember is the first to be part of their "Infinifilm" family. They sure can pack a lot on a single disc. As with other titles in that series, this one has a slew of supplements, which can be accessed by normal menu functions, or through the Infinifilm notices that pop up onscreen as you watch the movie. What you will find are numerous featurettes on the effects, behind-the-scenes looks at the production, interviews with the cast and crew, and much more. In addition are around 25 minutes of deleted scenes and a gag real. Though not all of them work, this segment adds even more laughs not found in the film. Not to be left out are four music videos from the likes of Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles, theatrical teasers and trailer plus some nice DVD-ROM content. Of course, as with the other Austin Powers discs, this one includes a screen-specific audio commentary with director Jay Roach and Mike Myers. If that weren't enough, this disc also features a "fact track" with all kinds of interesting notes that run along with the movie. As for picture and sound, it is stellar in all respects. The image, framed at 2.35:1, and anamorphic, is brilliant. A pan-and-scan version is available separately, but with it being so severely cropped, there is little point to it. Colors, a real integral element of this film, are vibrant and full of life. Detail is also strong, but then again, nothing less would have been acceptable. Simply put, this is as good a transfer, as you will find. The sound matches the visuals in every way. Both DTS and Dolby Digital English tracks are provided, and it's quite surprising that a comedy would have such an active soundtrack. Dialogue is distinct, while at the same time, the surrounds are used very effectively with excellent separation. Of particular interest is the bass, which is quite powerful at selected times.

DO You Want to Learn about Gold?

I am going to tell about Austin Powers the Goldmember. Is Austin Powers the Goldmember really worth you money? Austin Powers is a very good spy movie because it is funny, Mike Myers is a great actor and, it is appropriate for all ages. Austin Powers is a very good movie. It is a very funny movie because in the movie Austin and his lady friend sneak into the locker-room and the guy they are going after is using the bathroom. When the sumo is done using the bathroom he comes out and takes his uniform Austin jumps out of the cart and tries to get the sumo. Austin Powers jumps across four guys the sumo jumps across the guys and this sumo is about 400 pounds and the guys in the hot tube were scared. The guy¿s eyes got bigger than their bodies. In the end they got the sumo. Mike Myers Played Austin Powers in the movie. Myers is a very good actor, he doesn¿t laugh during the movie, he is not silly, and he is smart in the movie and outside of the movie like the cast and se. Myers doesn¿t have a British accent like Austin Powers does. ¿Austin¿ is wild in the movie but is normal outside of the movie. This movie is appropriate for all ages. It¿s funny no matter if you are 88or 5 you will find it funny. In this Movie Austin powers there is not cursing, some ¿older¿ serrations, and it focus on family. If you are into spy movies, than you will like this movie. I would recommend this for any age please take my advice and buy this movie. I hope me telling you about this movie you like it. I hope it is worth your money if not you can take it back and return it. It was worth my money.

    This Movie is Groovy, Baby!

Do you like a good comedy? Well then Austin Powers: Goldmember is perfect for you. This movie is played by Mike Myers, Seth Green, and Beyonce plus the rest of the cast. It is the third movie in the Austin Powers series. From my opinion it is the best so far. Austin Powers: Goldmember is a great movie because it is funny, it has a good cast, and a perfect length. After I watched this movie I almost laughed my pants off. In this movie Austin Power¿s dad is kidnapped, so Austin has to save his dad and stop Dr. Evil from destroying the world. Austin teams up with Beyonce as they go through Dr. Evil¿s henchmen to save his dad. In the beginning they make a movie about Austin Power¿s life that is starred by Tom Cruise, Danny Devito, and Kevin Spacey. I could watch this movie one hundred times and still laugh. The cast makes this movie funny by what they say and how they say it. Mike Myers has a funny laugh and his teeth stick out so much. Beyonce has a huge afro that covers her head. In the movie, Austin unplugged the fountain so he urinated in the fountain to not get caught by the bad guys. Mike Myers plays four different characters in the movie and he has a different accent for each character. No one can beat this cast¿s acting. The length of this movie is perfect because it fits all of the parts. The length of this movie gives it good detail. It is well organized with a beginning, middle, and end. The ending keeps me thinking of what will happen in the next movie. In the movie, Austin fights one of Dr. Evil¿s henchman and the length of the fight helps me understand the character better. I have no trouble understanding this movie, with such a good length. Austin Powers: Goldmember is a great movie because it is funny, it has a good cast, and a perfect length. It is a classic comedy for you and your family. When I am looking for a comedy I choose this movie and I suggest that you should too. I rated this movie five stars, and after you watch it, trust me you will do the same. I hope you liked my opinion about the movie, and I wish to hear yours.

Pretty funny, but not as funny as Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Not a bad movie at all. Pretty funny, but not as funny as Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Should've given more dialog to Foxy Cleopatra (Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child) instead, she's just the next girlfriend for Austin, and not a more fleshed-out character, like Heather Graham or Elizabeth Hurley before her. The character of Goldmember, while not in the film a lot, could've been cut down a bit more. He isn't particlularly interesting. He's not as evil as Dr. Evil, and not as disgusting as Fat [...], and comes off as a washed out amalgam of the two. Fred Savage, from TV's "The Wonder Years," is good in his two scenes as "the Mole." It's Dr. Evil, as usual, who steals the show, however. And it's a pretty good show. * * * * * * * * * * Rating: B + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + F.Y.I.: While in the movie we hear ELO's "Evil Woman," King Floyd's funk classic "Groove Me," and Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea," Darin's song is not on the soundtrack, and absolutely awful cover versions of the first two make the album. Avoid this soundtrack at all costs!

Just as Funny as the First Two Movies In The Austen Powers Series!

Austen Powers in Gold Member is a very funny movie and just as good as International man of Mystery and The Spy Who Shagged Me. Like a previous reviewer My favorite scene is the shadow scene with Austin and Mini Me. I know that they already did a shadow scene in The Spy Who Shagged Me with Austen Powers and Felicity Shagwell and it was hilarious but it's even more hilarious in this movie! I thought this was a good movie and my only complaint is that I didn't really like the Goldmember character. He was really more gross then funny! He was even more gross than Fat Bstard.

    Smashing, baby, yeah!

I've never watched any of the Austin Powers movies in my life! I didn't even know what it was all about, until last Friday, when I was shopping, I spotted it on the shelf. I read the back, and thought 'This sounds good,' so I bought it. It was so funny, I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a movie before! It is now my favorite movie, and I LOVE IT! Soooo funny, especially the shadow scene, with Mini Me and Austin! Oh, yeah, that mole guy! When Austin starts 'getting it out his system' ( in the Tokyo house ), he pokes it with a twig. This is proper funny, coz that's what you wanna do, in it?! And also, Sir Michael Caine is a good laugh, like when he's telling the guards how he's gonna beat them up in Dr.Evil's sub. Then Mini-Me points a gun at him, and he says 'Blimee! Thought I smelled cabage!' !Anyone who needs a good laugh, watch this movie! U won't regret it...

    Funniest Movie EVER

When I heard a third Austin Powers movie was coming to theaters, I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical. But to my enjoyment and surprise, I find Goldmember to be the funniest of the three Austin Powers movies! Mike Myers is one of the best comedic actors and can still make old jokes and lines funny. The puns and cameos in this movie make me enjoy it even more each time I watch it because there's some things that I didn't catch the last time I might have watched it. New characters that are as funny as the old ones also add to this movie's ability to make you laugh. Get some tissues, Goldmember will make you laugh til you cry.

I loved it.I didn't think this would be as good as the first two, but I was wrong. No one can resist the humor of Mike Myers and Beyonce Knowles in the 70's.FUNNY,FUNNY,FUNNY

    a waste of time

having happily watched the first two austin powers movies, this one left me real dissapointed. the jokes were gross and immature, and the plot was non-existant. Austin's lost his charm. Frankly, I've laughed more watching the weather channel.

    Mike Myers the comic genius

In this movie, Mike Myers displays his wonderful acting skills and I am in awe of his talent, as always. Did you know that most of that movie is Improvisation?!?!? The jokes are as good as ever and his newest character, Goldmember, is just as funny as all the others, except Doctor Evil cuz he's the best!!!!
