Beachballs

Overview

Beach Balls harkens back to the teen surf films of the 1960s, with the only addition being an abundance of nudity and profanity. Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Jeremy Wheeler
Late-night cable served as a home for this slice of '80s teen hijinks for well over a decade, giving this middle-barreled comedy a much longer shelf live than maybe it deserved. While certain audiences will have fond memories of the flick, there's little here that lives up under closer scrutiny. One or two classic gags are supplied by the crusty punks and muscle-loving jocks in the ensemble cast, but the rest of the flick is hampered by a lead idiot that's one year away from being upstaged by Zach in Saved by the Bell. Beachballs is worthy of note for co-starring the gum-chewing test subject in Ghostbusters, Steven Tash, and for director Joe Ritter, whom genre audiences might recognize for co-scripting the original Toxic Avenger.
