Been wanting to see this movie for a while and the sequel. It is an interesting film where two people meet and find as they talk, that they have some sort of connection. If you like romantic movies, then you'll probably like this one.

This movie wasn't all about the action and what not. It focused on good, well written conversation, which I liked a lot. It isn't every day that you see a movie with so much conversation that isn't boring. One of the best movies out there.

I don't quite know where to start. I have seen this movie long time ago and I absoultely loved it. It is so real and intelligent and catches the real spirit of the cultures that it was just a breathtaking experience for me. I am from Europe, and the reason why I am writing this review is the fact that I am in the States right now and have been here for quite a while now. Being here gave the whole new aspect to this movie. I totally understood the Celine's point of view, but now I also understand Jesse's. I was watching this movie with my American friend and seeing how similar we are to the characters in the movie was just amazing. I would recommend this movie to everyone who believes that true love does exist and that it is as simple and beautiful as it is in this movie. Movies like that are a total must see!

'Before Sunrise' was truly a spectacular film. The characters are so real, that you feel like you could see them passing by. It's such a real movie! It captures the awkward feelings between two people. When they first get to Vienna and seem to have nothing to talk about, you can kind of feel the doubt that he might have. Ethan Hawke gives a breathtaking performance as a young man that is completely in love. When he convinces her to get off at Vienna with him, you can see the hope in his eyes, and you are silently begging her to go with him, even though you know she will, you still have doubt because both of their performances are so tangible. Their conversations were so real; he was so real; she was so real; the situation was so real. Everything about the movie was so easy to relate to, and I'm sure that it would strike a chord inside of almost everyone. I also love how they know that this is really only magical for that one night. They dont try to drag on a spur of the moment romance like so many other movies. I honestly think that this movie is beautiful, and I dont think that about many films.

I agree with everything the other reviewers have said, but the thing that makes this movie great is its ability to make you think. You find yourself discussing the ideas from the movie with your own crowd. Also, that it plays so realistically. Yes, they do fall in love, but they see each others' faults, and they don't always agree with each other just for the sake of being agreeable. Reality and romance isn't a combination you see too often.

I, like few other males that I know, am a fan of the Romance genre. Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise is one of my favorites. The story centers around two people, who meet on a train and spend the next 24-hours together, falling in love in Vienna. At the end of their day, they find themselves at an idealistic moment-of-truth. Ethan Hawke, in my view, turns in on of his best performances. This is the first time that I¿ve seen a Julie Delpy movie. Her character melted me into the fabric of my chair; what more can I say? Before Sunrise is a permanent fixture in my DVD collection. To all you male devotees to romantic classics, ¿By it.¿

i've seen a lot of romantic movies. trust me. the makers of before sunrise have re-invented the classic romatic movie genre with this film. the film is funny, cool, intelligent, great actors, has a great soundtrack and a fantastic atmosphere. two people meet in a passengerwagon and decide to spend 24 hours together. those 24 hours are packed with intelligent conversation about love, the world, religion and almost everything on this planet. this movie is a must see. and trust me, this movie is not only for women, it's for everybody that like a great moviescript filmed with great love for detail and excellent acting. hand down, one of the greatest movies ever made in the 90's.

ethan hawke is one of my fave actors and before sunrise undoubtedly is one of his best films. reality bites and dead poets society are my other two faves but before sunrise is a must watch film. it is a story about two people, ethan hawke and julie delphy who meet on a train and spend 24 hours with each other. one special day, two special people. he talks nonstop, smiles with his eyes,is a cynic who doesn't believe in things like destiny. she's a believer, a true romantic. they end up talking through the day and all night long. fall in love before sunrise. the next day dawns and they part. promising to meet again at the same place. and the fantastic movie cuts to black. and you are left with the same feeling you have when you finish a great book. you didn't want it to end. but it did. so you open the book again and flip through the pages. and that's what you do with this film. you watch it all over again..and again..and again.
