    Ripping Good Fun

For my money the best of the Black Adder series is Number 2. Set in Elizabethan times with Miranda Richardson playing a priceless, slightly ditzy and capricious QE 1. Mr. Atkinson is at his best playing the snide and cheeky, and at times resourceful, Lord Black Adder.

The chemistry between the characters and the superb comedic timing really make this series special. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie play excellent foils for Atkinson's antics. Some the episodes are genuine 'laugh out louders', particularly 'Bells', and 'Beer'.

Other characters give wonderful supporting performances that make the episodes shine.

Very deserving of the 5 star rating, a real jewel of comedy!

    my favorite black adder series

This English renaissance/Elizabethan series is really enjoyable. Miranda Richardson is wonderful as "Queenie" - a completely off-the-wall portrayal of Liz I & a nice tonic for all the recent depictions of her in more recent films. The cast is fantastic, with Stephen Fry joining the regular BA crew.
