Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Can we party? Yes, we can! Nickelodeon's top-rated preschool series shines in this festive 45-minute story collection. Bob, Wendy, and the crew of shiny, happy machines build on their solid friendships while learning about teamwork and having good fun. In "Bob's Birthday," Wendy plans a surprise birthday party for Bob. Bob reciprocates her kind gesture when he builds Wendy a new patio while she's away, in "Bob's Big Surprise." Next, in "Bob's Day Off," Bob takes a break from his birdwatching to help out a bogged-down Wendy. Finally, Wendy steps in when Bob's line-dancing partner sprains her ankle before a dance contest, in "Buffalo Bob." Can they win it? Yes, they can! Four shorter Bob vignettes lay the foundation for such life lessons as good manners and saving energy.

Save your money, Buy the VHS version

I couldn't say if it is the fact that HIT Entertainment doesn't know how to make a DVD with menus or they are just a greedy, self-serving enterprise that wants to force you to watch their previews of upcoming products. But the previews are almost 10 minutes long. I have had the DVD for a week and have tried 3 times to have my kids watch my latest purchase. By the third preview, they are begging to watch something else. We haven't even gotten to the video yet in 3 tries! At least with VHS, you can fast forward. The DVD will not allow you to skip the previews! If there was a less that one star rating, that is what this DVD deserves.
