Can't wait to see this but...

Warning - all the DVDs in my package were inoperative; couldn't get past the legal disclaimer. But B&N has been very nice about doing a switcheroo. I have seen most of the episodes of this season, and 2nd season is a huge improvement on the first. As soon as David Dortort got away from not very graceful borrowings from Comstock Lode history (he practically dramatized much of Lyman's Saga of the Comstock Lode), characters tightened up and stories got better. They seem to have found their way in Season 2; I can't even watch Season 1. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this set when I finally get it in working condition. In the meantime, 3 stars only! But I'm really waiting for Season 5 when Guy Williams joins the cast, albeit briefly. Both Pernell Roberts and Guy Williams (the story wasn't that good, but..)...priceless.

    Best of the Best

The kind of family action drama everyone wishes they still made. Of course, if they made it now, Adam would be gay, and Joe would bed every dame in the territory. BTW, AK is a nebbish.

    Fantastic!

Bonanza is relatively new to me, but I am COMPLETELY enjoying the release of Season 2 Vol. 1 as well as the full first season. The picture quality is beautiful, and I can watch FULL episodes without material being cut out of the episode as they do on television.

The extras are wonderful, including the commenataries on four eps and the photos. I am axious to purchase future releases of Bonanza! Please find a way to release future seasons faster.

A Must Buy Classic TV Western

This official version of the second season of Bonanza, the second longest running western and the #1 show in the U.S. for several years in the 1960s, is a must buy for fans of classic TV. In addition to unedited episodes for the first half of the season with the original music, these DVDs have many special features. Four episodes have excellent commentaries by the guest stars and there are lots of behind the scenes still photographs and interviews with producer David Dortort and Dan Blocker. This DVD is well worth the price.
