Hilarious

I LOVED this movie! Well, I easily laugh at a lot of things. I laughed so hard during this movie I started crying. It was great!But, if you're a hard person to make laugh..you might not like this.

The Truth Sometimes Stings!

This film is not for bigots, rascists, or others with "issues" or "hidden agendi"! Cohen takes a well-deserved swipe at those who profess to be openminded, yet who lack the openmindedness to see themselves as others might see them. The film is, in a word, hilarious. Does an exemplary job in pointing out how human we all are--reminds me of how Mark Twain liked to upset things.

I absolutely love this movie. The funniest part of the movie is how his character brings out how rascist and judgemental people of America can be. Not all people, mind you. Not to mention, how he mocks them. Overall, this moviefilm is a great success!

This is the worst movie that I have ever seen. I could not, for the life of me, think of any movie worse. Don't waste money, don't waste your time. It might be funny if you're 13 years old. But no adult in their right mind would laugh at this trash.

What can I say?

This movie was completly revolting and disgusting. The movie had a thin story line and the actors were acting horribly. The director of this film was trying to hard to make the audience laugh and all the scenes they tried to make funny were just crude.

The Cultural Exploration of a Lifetime

This movie is hard to stomach for some, but its benefits far outweigh its crudeness. It is raw comedy at its best. It is fresh and full of new tricks. I laughed the 4th time I watched it and I still laugh. High five!

Ishtar is looking better

It is very rare for me not to watch a movie all the way through - Why, I even sat through Ishtar laughing at how bad it was -- referred to as the worst movie ever to get out of Hollywood -- but it can move over and rejoice, there really is a movie worse than that - and it is Bourat. For someone to think this movie is great - they have no idea what great means. They must have little minds and enjoy picking their nose while counting their pubic hairs. They also, most likely, don't have an original thought in their head -- and felt Junior High School was the pinnacle of their life. So sad. If you have a functioning brain, skip this one -- go rent an Abbott & Costello movie and have a real laugh.

This movie was hillarious and I'm not exactly sure what some of you were expecting. It's a comedian pretending to be foreign to put American's out of the norm situations and see how they respond. The funniest parts of this movie aren't what he says, but some of the responses that he gets from other people. Yes, he there is over the top anti-Semitism in the movie, but it is OVER THE TOP so that it is clear that is a joke to make the character this way. I mean the guy carries around "gypsy" tears. Not to mention the jewish family he stays with are just about the kindest people on earth. My 2 cents. Definitely worth a watch!

My name a Borat. I like you, I like sex. It's nice! I get a window from a the glass, he get a window from a the glass. I get a step, he get a step. I get a clock radio, he can't afford. Great success! Qoutes like these and many others from the begining to the end. I love this whole movie. Also love all the Ali G, Borat and Bruno stuff he did.

Not for prudes or the timid

Ribald and, at times, profane and disgusting, BORAT takes the mockumentary genre farther than it has ever gone before. Through the eyes of a supposedly foreign journalist we see sides of American life and culture that's not necessarily flattering or sensible: drunken frat boys, religious zealots, etc. This is one of the wildest comedies ever made - but it's certainly not for prudes or the timid.

If you're the kind of person who thinks "Jackass" is genius, than Borat is for you. Otherwise, the trailer contains the only real clean material of the entire movie, which is too bad because this could have been one hell of a clever comedy. Instead, the name of the game here is to see how much pain, we, the audience, will endure. In the advertisements, it appeared that the joke was on unsuspecting bystanders found through different walks of life, a la Tom Green or similar style pranksters, but in reality, the joke in Borat, is on us. Which begs one to question, where's the line between funny and offensive? There are some who thought Andy Kaufmann was a genius for "challenging the audience" and making them cringe and uncomfortable rather than making them laugh. I have to admit, after watching this film, I'm not of that camp. I can't believe I paid to be ridiculed.

FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER

I almost died laughing

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!

Borat was the funniest movie of '06. Some of the people in the movie would beg to differ, as would George Saunders in the pages of The New Yorker. What makes Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy work is the way he tends to draw out the true nature of the people he fools on camera - jerks and bigots tend to reveal their true colors, while others, even if they might appear slightly awkward or even silly, show how decently they would behave in the presence of what they perceive to be a truly ridiculous man with a camera. But all that aside, the movie is just plain hilarious....

HILARIOUS beyond belief!

I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard! Sasha Baren Cohen is pure genius, and it amazes me that he stayed completely in character throughout! It was, by far, the funniest movie I've seen...ever! I am not easily offended, so it may turn you off if you are. I also think you can't take anything he does as a personal stab at any race, gender, religion, etc. He is simply outrageous, incredibly witty, and is pure ad lib genius!

Could of been so much better

I was VERY dissappointed in this movie. I knew going in that this was humor at the expense of another but was not aware that the movie was as gross as it was. I would not reccomend this movie to anyone. The people at the video store warned me it was not funny and not to rent it, then I got it as a gift from a friend who purchased it for me. My friend, and guests felt horrible when we watched the movie as a group of about 10 to celebrate my new home theater. None liked it and felt the humor was flat, not very original, and really gross. There are so many better comedies offered for purchase from B&N, go buy those!!!

Why is this stupid movie so darn awful? There's no point, no actual story line, and the roster is disgusting.This may be the worst low-budget film in movie making history. Lord help us all Run, run as fast as you can from moronic Borat! Never watch this JOKE in front of moral family, its SATANIC.Who's the bozo who gave him an award related maybe!

Total waste of time

I should have stuck to my gut instinct and not bothered with this one. What a waste of time. I want those 20 minutes of my life back.

Dissappointing

I had high expectations for this movie, for I had heard so much about it. I had also seen the trailer in which "Borat" was at a rodeo event and said that he was from kazakhstan and he supported our "war of terror." Therefore, I thought that the movie was going to be one with "smart humor," with a smart observation of America. But the movie turned out to be a sensasionalist one that sought a shock effect on its viewers. A cannot get myself to recommend it to anyone, that is why I give it a poor rating.

My New Favorite Funny Movie

I thought the movie was so funny. The characters are great, and really make you laugh. But if you are easily offended do not watch this movie, it has the abilty to hurt feelings. But, since I appreciate this type of humor I say it rocked!!!
