Christina Aguilera makes her dramatic feature debut as Ali, a small-town singer who takes her shot at stardom performing at a neo-burlesque nightclub in Los Angeles. Situated in a regal old theater that's still dazzling despite having fallen into disrepair, The Burlesque Lounge is the kind of club where legends are born. When club owner Tess (Cher) hires charismatic Ali as a cocktail waitress, the ambitious big-city newcomer goes to great lengths to make a good impression. Taken under the wing of a friendly featured dancer (Julianne Hough), Ali quickly realizes that not everyone is quite as nice when she forms a friendship with bartender/aspiring musician Jack (Cam Gigandet) and incurs the wrath of the club's cattiest showgirl (Kristen Bell). After making her leap to the stage with a little help from a sympathetic stage manager (Stanley Tucci) and the club's playfully androgynous host (Alan Cumming), Ali becomes the star attraction at The Burlesque Lounge, and the crowds start packing in. Later, a wealthy businessman (Eric Dane) makes a bid for the club while trying to charm the talented young performer straight into his arms.

Burlesque is a fun guilty pleasure for you & your Girlfriends to enjoy. With a fun cast, great performances and amazing singing done by Cher & Christina. Ladies this is a must have for your movie collection!
Burlesque is awesome! Its pure entertainment. Singing, dancing, acting, romance - oh my! The cast is wonderful! A classic story told again in a throwback to the musicals which is a formula that always works with the right people and the right music and in the right setting and it works here.
This is a great movie. I loved Christina's character and Cher is always great. Their was nothing I didnt like about this show. It's what I consider a modern musical that is fun and sassy, with some serious moments. Kind of like what musicals use to be like, with a story and singing. I would recommend this highly.
This is a good movie. I love the songs and the energy of the movie. I am a huge huge huge fan of Cher. She did a great job in this movie. This is a must buy.
Good movie. similar to The movie Coyote Ugly. Same plot.
Worth to watch. :)
I've always loved Cherilyn. She has the it factor still. Although this isn't in any way an Oscar winning performance by her, it's still worthy of her fans. Christina was who the movie was meant to make shine. Cher just wanted to be in a musical before the genre was stopped. Can you blame her? Those pipes, even though somewhat too falsetto for me these days and not quite as gutteral and full like the Cher of the 70's, can still can pack a whallop. I want to see CHER in a staring vehicle like MAME or GYPSY and see her give the camera hell then. Mrs. James Brolin is attempting to play the part, but what if she was to direct Cher???? What a Paring that might be. Any way- watch Burlesque CHER and her two songs are well worth it and so is Christina.
I loved this movie,Christina sure has some vocals and Cher is the star she is,Tons of sexy routines and amazing songs,Burlesque is something to rent and watch with the girls.Romance is also included too for all the romantics out there!Burlesque also has a discovering yourself vibe so if you heart all that, watch it!
Great Movie. I watched it twice. I am a musical lover and I am glad that they made this one a little more modern day. What I really liked that for a music there was dialoge and not singing words. If you get what I mean. I recommend it to anyone.
I liked this movie just as much as my mom didn't, It was pretty well done. My favorite character had to be Ali because she went for her dream and got to live it!
