Australian filmmaker Paul Cox weaves a moving tale about love and disabilities in the movie Cactus. Image Entertainment has done an only mediocre job on this full-frame transfer. An excessive amount of grain and dirt show up during many scenes, making this a somewhat murky-looking picture. The colors and black levels appear even, though as a whole, the images seem to be muted with a lack of sharpness or depth. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital Mono in English, and is, at the very least, passable. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are free of any excessive distortion or hiss. There are no subtitles available on this disc. The only extra feature available on Cactus is an isolated score to the film. Sadly, this disc as a whole is more or less a dud and recommended only to hardcore fans of the movie.
