    Not bad

Disc 1 was cracked, and unplayable. Disc 2 and 3 worked fine.

Of the 2 that I was able to watch, I thouroughly enjoyed them

    Excellent Stuff

Maybe not the broadest appeal, but if you like medieval history, mysteries, and Derek Jacoby this should be right up your alley. Set during the riegn of King Stephen, the last Norman king, the attention to detail, both historical and mundane, is a delight. Jacoby does his usual best playing the soldier turned Benedictine monk. Committed to both God and the truth Cadfael uses modern emperical methods to solve some rather horrific murders. A Morbid Taste for Bones especially shows Cadfael using an old ceremony to remove the flesh from a mysterious corpse to reveal its bones so he can find out exactly how the man was murdered, to the expected shock and horror of his brother Benedictines. He of course has his way and the murderer, the man's own son, is revealed due to Cadfael's investigation. The whole series is a wonderful trip back to medieval England and a good mystery series. This series also does something few of its type do, the killer isn't revealed until the protaganists discover his/her identity. I enjoy following along with the investigation, not watching the killer revealed from the beginning of the show to the viewers. Two thumbs up for this series. I wish Acorn Media would get the rest of the series on DVD, so far only 6 of the titles seem to be available, and the BBC has made probably over 16 (a guess, there maybe more) or more of these.
