Campion has a pretty good idea who is the killer and thief, but Inspector Oakes (Andrew Burt) is not so easily persuaded--at least, not until murder rears its ugly head yet again. In America, Death of a Ghost was telecast November 9 and 16, 1989, as part of the PBS anthology Mystery!.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
Behind his distinctive owlish glasses and gentle, deceptive naïveté, Albert Campion conceals a passion for excitement and danger. Peter Davison (All Creatures Great and Small, Doctor Who) plays Margery Allingham's enigmatic sleuth, with Brian Glover as his loyal but slightly shady manservant, in these classic mysteries set in the 1930s. In Death of a Ghost, we find Campion hobnobbing with art lovers at the posh estate of his friend Belle Lafcadio. He thought he'd been invited to view a painting but finds himself viewing a body. When a second corpse turns up, Campion must provide an answer -- is it suicide, or another murder?
