Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Lewis Somoza Manalo
A shy schoolgirl of ten, Sakura breaks the seal of the mysterious and magical Clow Book, unwittingly unleashing its troublesome spirits. Becoming one of the legendary Cardcaptors, Sakura finds herself an unlikely hero with the power to capture the cards containing the Clow spirits. With the aid of Kero, the guardian spirit of the cards -- and often mistaken for a stuffed toy -- Sakura must capture all of the rogue spirits without her big brother finding out she sneaks out at night! A reteaming of the comic creators CLAMP and animators at Mad House (X, Ninja Scroll), the story line may resemble that of the popular children's show Pokémon, but this television series' mystical plots and eye-popping animation will make enticing entertainment for both kids and serious anime fans alike. Volume Two of in the Cardcaptor Sakura series features the episodes "Sakura, Panda, and the Cute Shop," "Sakura and Memories of her Mother," "Sakura's First Attempt as a Thief?!" and "Sakura's Rival Appears."
Animerica - Winnie Chow
The animation quality is far above average for a TV series.... Nearly everything looks top-notch here, from the sugary opening to the casting of the Windy card.
