In their newest DVD release, the gentlemen vocalists of Celtic Thunder seem to have discovered the lighter, more playful side of music. Witness: Keith's 1960s surfer medley, Damien's take on Frank Loesser's "Standing on the Corner (Watching all the Girls Go By)," and a top hat-and-tails-clad Paul singing and dancing--in a manner of speaking--to the original novelty number "Doo Wacka Doo;" George, in revisiting his rendition of "(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles," engages an enthusiastic audience, and Ryan, the self-described Dark One of the group, even finds himself amidst a group of dancing Chicago hoodlums in "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown." Serious ballads are still in evidence, to be sure, but not to the degree that they were on the first two DVD releases. A most pleasant surprise is addition of the vocals of Neil, who is technically not a new member (Viewers will perhaps remember him as the kilted guitarist for the group). His rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" in a trio with Keith and Ryan is a standout number, as is take on "When You Wish Upon a Star," which, unfortunately, can only be found on the CD of the show. (Also highly recommended.) Celtic Thunder purists may question, and even dislike, the direction of this release, but perhaps it is setting the stage for the group's next endeavor, "Storm" which is purported to be almost a Broadway style musical-theatre piece with costumes and a storyline. If there is a downside to this release--and that is a BIG IF--it lies in its brevity: clocking in at a little over an hour in running time.

This DVD is a must have for fans wishing to know Celtic Thunder's beginning and more about each individual. It is invaluable and highly entertaining in showing the group's ties to Ireland. The audio/video tracks are disappointing. While this performance initiates some new vocals, as well as new vocalists, it disappoints in quality of performance, acoustically and visually. As one would expect from a television performance, the staging is not high quality. The audios lack their usual excellence. They repeat some original favorites and introduce several new numbers, as well as other vocalists. The guest vocalists did not enhance the group or the video. The costuming was mediocre, and did not have their usual flair. Buy this DVD for the interviews and background information. For a true appreciation of the high quality of Celtic Thunder's performances, check out their earlier CD/DVDs. They are outstanding!

Celtic Thunder's first DVD was exceptional. This one was disappointing. We like to listen to Irish music and not this was not what this DVD was. Celtic Thunder should stick to their roots and heritage.

This is absolutely some of the most awesome singing I have ever heard. I love all of their programs.

I have become a steadfast fan of Celtic Thunder. They have such different styles and personalities. This third DVD continues in the same level of excellence as the previous two. Keith does such good performances from his ballads to the fun surfing medley; he seems to really enjoy what he's doing. I'm glad to see Neil having a bigger role in the shows; he's always had such an attractive air while he was staying in the background. George does a really great job with the ballads but I love to see him doing the fun songs "Life With You" and "I'm Gonna Be". Ryan's eyes seem to twinkle with all his songs. Paul is debonair with anything he sings; his heartfelt renditions of love songs and his humorous songs such as "Doo Wacka Doo" brings the audience in. Damian has handled his voice changing in stride and continues to belt out his songs with great flair. I am actually going to go to my first live show in October and it seems an eternity away; my 7 year old daughter will be thrilled to know we are going to see them in a live concert.

Saw this on Wedn evening on PBS and was very disappointed. What we came to love about this group was strong Celtic flavor. Don't be fooled because this is Not the same sort of entertainment from the previous 2 DVDs. This production is over-the-top cheesy. The fellas still sing all right just not the beautiful melodic Celtic storytelling in song. Have now included unattrative female singer & dancers. Hope they go back to Irish/Scottish songs & music.

Once again, they've done a show that I'd watch over and over. A "must have" if you like this kind of music.

This was a fun video. The group did a great job of singing some old tunes. Their costumes, the sets and the music all work together to turn this into a nice show. The songs they chose are good and, of course, their voices are great. There were some differences from the other programs that Celtic Thunder has done and these were done well. I had fun with this one and will listen to it many more times especially now that I've seen the video.

Sharon Browne (producer) and Phil Coulter (musical composer and director) are genius! AND....Damian, Keith, Paul, Ryan, and George are so talented, sexy, funny, and candid (in the Story So Far piece), we absolutely understand why Sharon and Phil chose these five lads. LONG MAY THE THUNDER ROLL!!!!

As usual Celtic Thunder has presented greatly entertaining performances, individually and as a group. They have added new songs to their repertoire and retained some of their classics. Again young Damien tends to steal the show with his quirky grin and youthfulness. The others hold their own musically, personality wise and seem to treat Damien as a younger brother that they can tease, but would protect from any outsiders. Their rapport makes you feel as if you have been allowed into a close family event. The individual voices are excellent on their own when performing solo, and yet as a group their voices blend beautifully and in great harmony. You would think they had been performing together all of their lives rather than for about three years. I am already looking forward to their next CD/DVD. I own and would recommend their other CD/DVD's "The Show", and "Take Me Home". Even though there are songs that are repeated from one CD/DVD to the next, it is fun to see the growth from one to the next. Literally for Damian growing from a 14 year old to a sixteen year old before your eyes. I think this group will continue to grow in popularity world wide and I look forward to being able to enjoy more and more of their music.
