Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, the image is crisp and sharp -- offering bright, vivid colors, solid blacks, and even skin tones. The only minor complaint that could be made regarding the transfer is that it is shows minor evidence of edge enhancement in certain scenes. Audio is presented in Dolby Digital Mono and rings through very clear without any notable hiss or distortion. Though not brimming with extra features, this disc does offer some insightful bonus material that will appeal to both longtime fans of the film and those new to the work of Stanley Donen. A commentary track featuring Donen and screenwriter Peter Stone in particular is both an amusing and insightful listen, with the couple bickering at times like an old married couple with great affection for one another despite the occasional conflicting memory. There is no shortage of entertainment value to Donen and Stone's lively discussion, which addresses everything from the weight of the Cuban Missile Crisis on the lighter-than-air party scene to the film being placed in turnaround to their careful handling of minor crises and Cary Grant's indestructible hair. An introduction to the selected filmography on the disc is penned by Stephen M. Silverman (taken from his book Dancing on the Ceiling: Stanley Donen and His Movies) and offers a loving overview of Donen's films. The selected filmography is not, as on many discs, simply a list of films, but instead offers detailed descriptions of Donen's most beloved cinematic endeavors accompanied by a generous amount of film stills, posters, and other assorted images. Though Peter Stone's filmography isn't presented with quite the same reverence, it does offer a good overview in addition to a pair of black-and-white stills from Charade. A quirky full-frame trailer rounds things out nicely by offering a colorful and exciting preview of the comedic mystery.

    Charade

    One of my very favorite Cary Grant movies, as much for the scenery and background visuals as for the story. Filled with mystery and intrigue, this movie keeps you on the edge of your seat and often surprised by the turn of events. Frightening at some points, humorous in other scenes. Entertaining and holds your interest. Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn are a great team. Terrific movie and one I like to watch again and again!

    Great thriller

    Everyone loves Cary Grant, but who knew Walter Matthau could be so evil?

    Superb!

    I enjoy older movies and Charade is one of my favorites. It is my second favorite Cary Grant movie and my favorite Audrey Hepburn movie. This movie is very good and very thrilling. Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn are both outstanding and had great chemistry. It's a shame they didn't make more movies together. Not only are they superb but so is the rest of the cast, especially Walter Matthau, James Coburn and George Kennedy. There is a remake of this movie called The Truth About Charlie and it is not not very good. I would highly recommed that people watch this original version and skip the remake.

    Very Good

    I watched it two days ago- and I'm twelve, so I may not understand some things, but I thought it was very enjoyable. I've always liked Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, and it was nice seeing them work together in this very nice film.

    Love this movie!

    I don't usually enjoy older movies, but I have to make exceptions for Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, and when it's both of them, the movies are superb, and this one is no exception. It's hilarious! I love it!

    Good Movie

    Though I may have only been 15 when i first saw this movie, i am still enjoying it 3 years later. This movie has the perfect blend of romance, suspense, and action. More people need to see this.
