When a sow gives birth to some piglets, Fern's father Kevin Anderson intends to do away with the runt of litter, but Fern has become attached to the little pig and persuades her father to let him live. The pig, named Wilbur voice of Dominic Scott Kay, becomes Fern's pet, but when he grows larger, he's put in the care of Homer Zuckerman Gary Basaraba, a farmer down the road. Fern is still able to visit Wilbur regularly, and it soon occurs to both of them that pigs tend to have a limited life expectancy on a farm, and that unless something unusual happens, Wilbur will eventually becomes someone's dinner. Charlotte, a friendly spider, hatches a plan to make Wilbur seem special enough to save by weaving messages about the "terrific" pig into her web, and she soon persuades her barnyard friends to join in her plan. Charlotte is voiced by Julia Roberts, while the other actors who provide the voices of the animals on Zuckerman's farm include Robert Redford, John Cleese, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Buscemi, Kathy Bates, Cedric the Entertainer. Thomas Haden Church, and André Benjamin.

    Fabulous Movie!

My husband and I saw this movie at the theater and loved it. Unfortunately, the adults were all in tears at the end because the movie so vividly captured that feeling we all have when someone we love dies. But, it wasn't maudlin - just very real. The cinematography was well done and the actors who provided voices for the barn animals were in character and outstanding.

    Great movie

Charlotte's Web is a wonderful book that I read when I was 8 or 9. I was so happy to find out they made a movie staring Dokota Fanning. The story line is not quite the same as the book, but i still like the movie. Welbert was a spring pig, that wanted to see the snow. He met a very smart spider named charlotte, and she started writting words in her web like "some pig", "terrific", "humble", and Radiant

    Not as good . . .

I was very excited when I learned about this movie coming out. I was, and still am, a Charlottes Web lover. But, when I watched this movie, I foundit very disapointing. It made me dislike all movies by Nickilodian, because of what happened in this movie. The first movie was better, and this movie just had too many other things in it. the songs in the first movie were beter charlotte, Wilbur, Fern, and Templeteton all sounded better in the first. And the songs were very catchy, and I can recite each to you by memory. I know some fans loved this movie, but I find it very distasteful and not nearly as good as the origanal version. thats all from me. Thanks for listening.

    Beautiful movie.....

This movie is excellent. It did make me cringe to see the mother cooking bacon in the beginning of the movie. Don't miss it. Julia Roberts is outstanding as Charlotte. Be kind to animals.
