Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - David Schneiderman
Emmy-winning comedian, actor, and Saturday Night Live alumnus Chris Rock is not just another gagman. He's a deft new voice of media-savvy social consciousness who's unafraid to kick over political correctness in search of some hard and funny truths about the state of America at the turn of the Millennium. In this new stand-up concert movie, originally aired on HBO, Rock's hysterical and passionate diatribes go for the jugular. Freed from the confines of sketch comedy and talk-show pap, Rock springs loose and hits on everything from school violence to taxes to relationship maintenance, and offers a new angle on race relations, too. Along the way, he proves he's not just bigger and blacker, he's sharper, more honest, and a lot funnier, especially when left to his own devices.

    FUNNY

On of the funniest stand up comedians ever to live, Chris Rock can easily be called the funniest man to ever grace the microphone. Simple and serious topics like rascism, poverty, and sexual affairs are twisted in Rock's mind into a funny statement anyone would laugh at. I definitely enjoyed every moment of it.
