    Classically Great!

This is a fun and wonderful way to explore poetry and its many facets. My just turned 3 year old loves it (actually she started watching it at 2 1/2). She now even recites some of the poetry much to my surprise! Her favorite being Grassy, Grass, Grass. What is really engaging about this program is the variety of poems, the variety in which they are presented (some with music) and how they have live children talk about poetry between the segments. My daughter loves seeing the 'big kids' talk about poetry and what they think it means, I think this has helped her enjoy it more. If your child likes rhyming, they will probably really enjoy this!

If you only buy one DVD for your child....

This is it! MY 3 year old LOVES this DVD. I was trying to find something that would occupy her while I got dressed/ready in the morning for work that wasn't "junk." I don't like letting her watch TV, even PBS bugs me sometimes. We belong to an online movie rental system and I put this on our queue a long time ago and it finally showed up, much to my daughter's delight. She loved it so much we purchased it and she watches it every morning for about 15 minutes while I get ready for work. The classical poetry is wonderful. The discussion of poems by children ages 4-10 is insightful and inspiring. Langston Hughes even reads his poem, as do several other authors. Chloe loves Shakespeare's Sonnet 18, I love "Grassy Grass, Grass" and "This is Just to Say."
    What a delightful DVD!
