This movie started it all for Kevin Smith! Three key points for why this movie is worth watching (the cleaned version - digitally remastered the picture and sound in this version): 1.) THE SCRIPT - The dialog between the characters is what made this closet success a HUGE success! 2.) FUNNY - Off the wall and out of the park SLAP STICK humor! Smith did the unthinkable and made it one of the best comedies ever made! 3.) INTELLECTUAL STIMULATION - This movie is certainly NOT a action movie. But if you like intellectual dialog, this movie is for you! This movie helps relate to your old friends and dead-end jobs; and things you did to entertain yourself to get through a difficult "No-brainer" shift. Though, I never had intellectual conversations to the magnitude in my late teens; early twenties...I can still relate to their dialog. This movie goes from one extreme to another. And I cannot help but to agree with Kevin Smith's portrayal of the classic dumb consumer; people even I looked down on daily at my dead-end jobs. It did help you feel some what superior to the average consumer. A MUST OWN movie. Also, with the special edition, there are some great extra's in the special features that are worth owning. I LOVE THE FLYING CAR conversation. Trust me...it's worth it!

i love this blu ray. the transfer was astoundingly brilliant! 500x better than the tenth anniversary DVD. by the way, it has all the special features from that DVD, which is good. the special features look okay for standard definition, and Oh, what a lovely tea party! is excellent.

Kevin Smiths is a great director that doesn't care what people think of his films like in the movie Clerks.I was laughing, shocked, and amazed at this film because the movie is first of all in black and white and that is cool because we don't see that much at all any more.He makes up these characters that seem real and this is a true comedy that you can enjoy.

Everyone should work in retail. And if you've worked in retail, you must see "Clerks." Anyone trying to figure out why they're surrounded by morons and what to do with their lives while they realize it's all about who you surround yourself with will appreciate this movie. It's dialogue-heavy and cerebral, and the characters are easy to relate to. Watch it over and over, then see the sequel.

This movie is not only an amazing directorial debut, but also a very funny dipiction of the way many people see their own lives and jobs. The phrase ''I'm not even supposed to be here'' sums up how so many people see their work thats it's hardly a joke. My co-workers and I constantly qoute this movie, and are in general agreement that it is one of the best in the Kevin Smith saga.
