Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
When it comes to his friends, no one stands taller than Clifford. This collection unleashes eight new-to-video stories from the popular PBS Kids' preschool series based on Norman Bridwell's bestselling books. Rock N' Roll Clifford! (also available on VHS) hits all the right notes, beginning with "Doghouse Rock," in which Clifford, Cleo, and T-Bone help their friend Machiavelli nurture his special talents so he can become a member of their music group, the Pack Street Pups. In "Fan Mail," Emily Elizabeth gets a surprising response when she decides to send a fan letter to pop star Courtney Amber. In "Stage Struck," Emily Elizabeth encourages a disabled classmate to overcome her stage fright and participate in the school talent show. In the last story, everyone laughs when Vaz rips his pants during a soccer game, but his teacher reassures him that everyone suffers "Embarrassing Moments." The selections encompassing the Team Clifford (also available on VHS) portion of the disc begin with "The Great Race," wherein T-Bone comes in second to cheater Machiavelli but feels like a winner because he played fair-and-square. Big red dogs can jump in "Basketball Stories," in which Emily Elizabeth, Vaz, and Jetta cheer up their bedridden friend Charley with stories about a charity basketball game he wasn't able to attend. In "Short-Changed," Emily Elizabeth learns the relative unimportance of physical stature as she comically attempts to stand as tall as basketball giant Skyscraper Jackson. In the last story, Charley and Vaz help Emily Elizabeth regain her confidence on skates after she loses her "Lucky Charm."

With a lot of parents turning to the T.V. to babysit the kids Clifford offers an entertaining way of teaching a few life lessons about kindness, manners and several other things. Our 7 yr. old loved them and now our two year old is enjoying them and learning. For us as parents it is also something we do not mind watching with them for interactive learing. Bright colors, no violence, just happy Clifford and Friends :-) Entertainment with a purpose of education, manners, or life lessons.
