Clockstoppers

Overview

Time stands still in the teenage action fantasy Clockstoppers. Paramount has done a very nice job on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. All aspects of the color schemes, black levels and flesh tones are bright and natural without any bleeding or softness in the image. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English as well as Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English and French. The 5.1 soundtrack is a very nice ...

The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English as well as Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English and French. The 5.1 soundtrack is a very nice rumbling ride through the viewers sound system. With blasting effects and through directional sounds, this mix should give any surround sound component a rough workout. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. Parmaount has included only a few fluffy extra features on this DVD -- included on this disc is a light "The Making of Clockstoppers" featurette which includes interviews with the cast and crew, four promotional spots, a theatrical trailer for the film, and music videos for the song "It's the Weekend" by Lil' J and "Holiday in my Head" by Smash Mouth.

    Good Sci-fi

In this smarter-than-average Nick movie, teenager Zak Gibbs discovers a watch created by his professer/scientist dad that makes him move so fast it seems the world is standing still.Along with a new friend and his father's old student,Zak goes on a mission to save his dad from evil government forces.I liked this movie because it was more mature and interesting than most Nick movies. And it made me wonder if ''hypertime'' could one day be possible. It was also neat to see things suddenly freeze. My favorite part was when Zak went into super-hypertime and went through walls.Even though I liked ''Clockstoppers'',I didn't love it so I only gave it 3 stars.Still,''Clockstoppers'' is good sci-fi and entertaining.
