Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Hans J. Wollstein
By far the best Ken Maynard effort from low-budget producer Sam Bischoff, Come on Tarzan is almost wall-to-wall action, well directed by the veteran Alvin J. Neitz, who also wrote the screenplay. In addition to Tarzan's scene-stealing antics, Maynard was also awarded a better-than-average leading lady in former Charles Chaplin protégée Merna Kennedy. In the end, alas, Come On Tarzan proved quite a debacle for the star, who was slapped with a copyright infringement suit by former neighbor Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan's jungle namesake. Maynard, however, testified that it was Rice-Burroughs himself who had suggested to name the horse Tarzan and the case was dismissed.
