This is one of the great movies I have seen. It is a documentary, though it's so unlike a documentary that I didn't notice that that's what it is until two days after I'd seen it. In the tiny fishing of Berlev¿g far North of the Arctic circle, there is by some miracle a men's choir. The film masterfully contrasts the very human lives of these ordinary, mostly middle aged men with the unearthly music that they create. This is masterfully accomplished without any commentary. The film consists purely of film clips collected over a year or two, concerts, interviews with the men about their first loves, their wives, their drug habits and politics and children and disabilities. I hadn't laughed so hard in a very long time. It is a film full of heart and hope. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
