One of the best movies made, gentle and fun. Deep and light, and showing some of the games that are played when academia goes for grant monies. This movie also shows great personal relationships, made the more real by the performances. This movie gave me hope for love, redemption, and finding someone (although it took me 55 years I finally did). I have been in labs and academia for over two decades and found the personalities to be credible then and now. I highly recommend this movie for all, and I do not usually do so. See this and enjoy a time well spent.

A Classic That Will Hopefully Find Its Audience Over Time

'Creator' suffered from lack of studio support when it was released and, as such, its box office was not what it deserved. This is classic Peter O'Toole, but more than that 'Creator' does an elegant job of capturing the brief singularity and value of each life, regardless of the particular DNA¿ BIG Kudos to Jerey Leven, 'Creator's' creator, who came up with a simple phrase (made all the more powerful by the circumstances in which they were used) and to Peter O'Toole (for burning it into my mind so effectively with his manner of delivery that bespoke of his heartbreak for his departed wife, Lucy). What is the phrase? Four words he offers to 'Boris' giving him hope of breaking through the darkness of Barbara's coma. Jeeze, some 15 years later, just thinking of that scene brings tears to my eyes. Simply a masterful use of words to convey emotions that seek answers while ofering support and the promise of hope. I think one of the reasons the movie came off so well (in addition, of course, to a brilliant performance by the cast) was that the script was written by the 'creator' of the novel... so it stayed as true to the story as any adaptation can. This movie deserved a far bigger audience than it had in 1985. Its message is just as meaningful today. Rent or buy it, and see it with someone special!

    A little of everything

This is easily my all-time favorite movie. It's got everything: comedy, drama, science fiction, romance, religion. You will laugh, you will cry, you will think, you will define love in a whole new way. Listen for Dr. Wolper's ''love formula''. It's a winner!

The Next ''It's a Wonderful Life''

When ''It's A Wonderful Life'' was first released in theatres, it was a critical and box office failure. It took nearly 35 years for it to gain the audience and acclaim that it now has. Perhaps the times were not right. Perhaps it needed to age....nonetheless, ''It's A Wonderful Life'' is now considered an American classic. ''Creator'' also failed at the box office and critics consider it light weight and certainly not a classic. Watch this film, remembering it was released in 1985. Its humor, insights and poignant storylines will capture you and will prove once again that critics are often very, very wrong. The writing is excellent, the acting is flawless and the insights and messages beautiful. In an age of cynicism, ''Creator'' re-ignites the feelings of hope, love, and the power of belief over science.
