John Waters fans, prepare to shed a tear of joy as Focus Features brings the 1990 musical kitch-fest Cry-Baby to DVD as you've never seen it before. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, the image looks near-pristine, with the accompanying Dolby Digital Stereo sound mix really bringing the music to life as our teen hero attempts show the town squares that even a lowly "drape" can have a heart of gold. Of course, what would a Waters DVD be without commentary, and true to form, the gleefully distasteful director does not disappoint, providing audio commentary that is nearly entertaining as the film itself. If that's not enough for Waters fans, viewers can take a closer look behind the scenes in the extended featurette entitled "It Came From Baltimore" before checking out some truly outrageous deleted scenes that didn't make the final cut.

I don't know why this movie was not included in the "Very Crudely Yours, John Waters" Boxed Set, but it is ridiculous that it isn't. Johnny Depp, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, Iggy Pop. This is a very entertaining fair on the same level as the original Hairspray. Do yourself a favor and watch it.
Wow such a good movie me and my bestfriend we just love this movie i mean who wouldn't ? its the best and the movie seems like the 50's all over again! nice movie! really nice!!!
this movie is the best omg it makes u loough so hard and johnny depp omg he looks so hot well he looks hot in all his movies.U have to watch this movie
Though this movie has been silently looked over by most of the general public, it is a wonderful gem of a film. John Waters managed to make two great musical comedies from around the period of 1988-1990 - Cry Baby and Hairspray. I first watched both movies when I was 4 years old (this was probably right when the movies were released to video sometime in 1990 or 1991) and now I'm 20 and still love them. I remember going to a party when I was 4 and met Ricki Lake. My mom told me that I followed Ricki Lake around the whole party talking about Cry Baby and Hairspray, and she was very surprised and thought it was cute at the same time. It's cool to read that other kids (even younger than me) have taken a liking to this great film. I can't believe it's now on dvd.. I had no idea until just before writing this review! Hooray!
Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker is a boy whose parents were executed for bombing different places using the alphabet as an order of bombing. Alison is a “square” but has a crush on “Cry-Baby”. Although her boyfriend is completely set on ruining any kind of relationship that Allison and Wade could possibly have. Johnny Depp plays the part of “Cry-Baby”. He is extremely HOTT! Wade is called Cry-Baby because when his parents were executed he tattooed himself a permanent tear under his eye. This movie was great and you get to hear Johnny Depp sing, and he is honestly pretty good! It was a good movie.
This is one of the best movies i have ever seen. Im loving the whole singing scene. I love all the song they sing in it. I cannot get enough of the whole movie it simply puts me in awe. The whole "bad boy" role of Crybaby Walker falling in love with the "square" of Allison brings it all in together! Amazing movie i must say!
is a REALY!! Good movie, 5 thumbs up!

I LOVE THE MOVIE B/C ITS ABOUT TRUE LOVE FINDING THEM SELF IN TWO DIFFRENT SIDES OF THE SAME TOWN. PLUS THERE PARENTS ARE NOT EVEN ALIVE TO SEE THEM SO MUCH.
This movie was funny, cute, sexy, and most of all, I absolutely love the soundtrack! If you are a Johnny Depp fan (Like I am!) I highly recommend you watch this. Johnny Depp does an incredible job playing as a sexy bad boy!
The first time I saw this movie (6 yrs. old) I fell in love with it. Now I'm 16 yrs. old and still love watching the movies. I even know all the songs. That's how much I love this movie
Cry-Baby is the best movie ever. It has the traditional plot, the good girl in love with the bad boy. Johnny Depp was great in this movie, very hot!! I watched the movie when I was five years old and fell in love with it, and now I am 15 years old and its still my favorite movie!!
