Overview

The Irish drama Dancing at Lughnasa comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo, and English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are accessible. Supplemental materials include theatrical trailers and filmographies of the cast. Although there is a lack of quality extras on this release, the film itself transfers well to the small screen; the performances seem to be all the more intimate. Meryl ...

Worth viewing to see Meryl Streep in another great role, and the other characters are grand too.

This is one of those quirky little movies, one where you smile and sometimes laugh, but are fascinated because of the characters and the parts they play so well. The story is slow moving and ends without a great "ending" but the spirit of the movie is warm and fun. Just one of those "chick flicks" that anyone who likes Meryl Streep will love.
