    Nice movie

This movie is really great for those that like foreign films. I really enjoyed Danny's character and the situation he found himself in.

    Funny and sweet.

'Danny Deckchair' is one of those movies you watch, then run out and recommend it to all your friends. Rhys Ifans (who is best known in his role as Hugh Grant's flatmate in 'Notting Hill') was cast perfectly in the role of Danny, a construction worker with a girlfriend who wants to go places and feels he's one of the little people who will just hold her back. Danny has big, somewhat goofy ideas, and after seeing his girlfrind out with another man he is struck with one such idea. Danny takes off in a deckchair with balloons fastened to it and is carried off to the small country town of Clarence, where he crashes in local parking cop Glenda's yard. The movie centers around their budding relationship, as well as how the local townspeople react to Danny. Trouble brews from far away, however, in the form of Danny's girlfriend from the big city and her new romantic interest, a reporter out to find out what happened to Danny and make a name for himself. The movie is really quite sweet and very funny. It has a fairy tale quality with a romantic atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
