Love is heaven-sent in the romantic comedy Date With an Angel. Anchor Bay has done a great job at making sure this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer looks nearly free of any and all blemishes or imperfections. Overview

Love is heaven-sent in the romantic comedy Date With an Angel. Anchor Bay has done a great job at making sure this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer looks nearly free of any and all blemishes or imperfections. Aside of a small amount of edge enhancement, this is a nice-looking transfer that sports bright colors and dark black levels. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 in English and is only mediocre. While this soundtrack is free and clear of any distortion or hiss, overall, this is a bland and unimpressive soundtrack for the film. No alternate soundtracks or subtitles are included on this disc. Date With an Angel's supplemental section isn't very heavenly -- the only extra feature available on this disc is a theatrical trailer for the film.

    Great film!

A film gem of the eighties. Highly recommended. It is a beautiful love story much like the movie "Splash", which was released a few years prior to this one. It is one of my favorite all time films directed by Tom McLauglin (One Dark Night 1983). Watch it and enjoy!

I wish she would crash into my pool !

Emmanuelle Beart, ( the Angel ), is on her way to earth from heaven to pick up Jim Sanders, ( Michael Knight ), a young man having his bachelor party, he does not realize it but his frequent headaches are a brain tumor and he is laying drunk and passed out with his buddies in his livingroom dying, as the Angel desends from the heavens she has a collision with a satelite and crashes into Jims' swimming pool, Jim awakes and finds her and he is smitten by her beauty, thruout the movie Jim fends off his now ex-fiancee, her father and family and his friends, not realising until three quarters of the way thru the movie that he is in love with his angel and not his estranged girlfriend played by Cates. It has a happy ending and Beart steals the whole movie without saying hardly a word. A good holsom comedy the whole family will enjoy!

One of My Favorite Cult Films

If I had read the reviews on this movie before seeing it... well, I would never have seen it. But, thank goodness, I saw the movie first. This is one of my favorite cult movies. I don't understand why very few people I talk to haven¿t even seen it and those who have, don't really like it. Perhaps I'm too sentimental and enjoy ¿syrupy¿ romance. This is a clean movie that the whole family can watch except for two questionable exclamations, one unclear, and the other very clear. I enjoyed the humor and romance equally. And, no, it isn¿t the best movie in the world, but it¿s a heck of a lot better than the reviews would lead you to believe. If you consistently find that the professional ¿reviewers¿ don¿t seem to strike a match with your tastes, then try this movie.
