Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide
Death Hunt is an entertaining if rather familiar throwback to the days of classic action cinema. The "unjustly accused outlaw versus grizzled lawman" plotline won't win any prizes for originality but, it is solidly constructed and spiced up with plenty of amusing tough-guy banter by writers Michael Grais and Mark Victor. Better yet, it gives Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson plenty of room to strut their stuff: although the two only share one brief scene together, they anchor the film with their tough, no-nonsense charisma. Their work is ably supported by an array of excellent character actors, with the best turns by Carl Weathers as Marvin's trash-talking fellow mountie and Ed Lauter as the hateful, sadistic trapper who starts the whole mess by angering Bronson. Finally, and most importantly, director Peter Hunt directs with economy and skill, adding plenty of punch to the action and making excellent use of the snowy, scenic Yukon location. In short, Death Huntis a solid pick for action buffs, especially fans of Bronson and Marvin.

    BRONSON'S BEST

This Bronson movie is hands down the best movie he ever did. With a unforgettable cast of characters, (Lee Marvin, and Carl Weathers) this makes it one of, if not the best outdoor survival action movie ever made, and yes, this includes Deliverance.
