Deep In The Woods

Overview

Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide
Stylistic, atmospheric, and truly unnerving, this rare French stab at the American teen-slash-and-dash genre refreshes the familiar traditions while stealing them. There's a whiff of Dario Argento here as the film is photographed with a painterly eye and edited at a very patient pace, which enhances the gothic flourishes. Even the vocal and sound effects dubbing add to the surreal, otherworldly texture. We're still not sure of the motives of the maniac, but when did story ever matter when the style is so overwhelming? Horror fans looking for something different will find it in Deep in the Woods.
