Barnes & Noble - Matthew Carlin
Historia -- In the Round in Your Face chronicles the quintessential "hair metal" band Def Leppard's ascent from British obscurity to its MTV-fueled salad days of 1980 to 1988. The disc offers all the videos from that era, most of them culled from the multiplatinum 1987 album Hysteria. The collection boasts 18 videos of 16 songs, including "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages," as well as both the U.K. and U.S. versions of "Pour Some Sugar on Me." True enthusiasts can compare the two versions of "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" -- the electric original with guitarist Pete Willis and the acoustic-flavored remake featuring Phil Collen. "In the Round, in Your Face" is the live counterpart to "Historia," taken from two shows in Denver, Colorado, in 1988, with additional material from three shows in Atlanta, Georgia. Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott and company are captured "in the round" at the apex of their gargantuan world tour--surrounded by fans on all sides in McNichols Arena. The remastered DVD release of these two home videos is an essential marker of the days when metal music was able to rule on such a grand scale. Tracks are as follows: Historia

Historia repeats itself in our face

I bought this DVD last week and only got to watch it a few days later. Well, what a great DVD it is. 2 videos on one disc is a pretty good DVD to own for any hard rock or Def Lep fan. Historia is a fantastic video that shows the band's early video clips from around 1980-88. It also shows 2 live clips from In The Round, dubbed by the studio recording, which shows the viewer just what they're like on stage, and aren't they brilliant. In The Round In Your Face for me was a awesome concert. The sound, the lights and not to forget the massive audience were fantastic in their own way. Joe's popular mullet, Def Lep singlet, powerful vocals and his very cool jeans makes him look like an all-mighty god on stage. Not to forget the rest of the boys entertaining us with their talent and especially Rick Allen who does a spectacular job after his awful accident. This DVD is a must! Up The Lepz!!

    Def Leppard Roars

I have loved Def Leppard for 16 years and have had the ''Historia'' and ''In The Round and In Your Face'' video tapes for years. I was thrilled when I found this DVD and put in the the player right away when I got home. The picture is great and it is wonderful to have it all on one DVD. A must-have for any Def Leppard fan.
