DEFYING GRAVITY... AN FANTASTIC ORPHANED TV SERIES this is another great show that could not find an audience in American TV so it got canceled with several unaired episodes... it was an international financial effort and did well overseas. it is a sexy crew of astronauts... from meeting to training to launch on a seven year international spacecraft grand tour of the planets in the solar system... told in flash backs as the launch and tour progresses you meet a tight crew of newbies... trained by a couple of tragic heroes. they are sexy... funny and human as the two main characters meet find attraction then professional distance a mystery force that the grand tour is instituted for is introduced as the story progresses... top secret to the astronauts and mission control worker bees... it affects the crew unknown to them, from the beginning to it's siren song announcement on board the ship slick graphics... high tech space craft and gear let me know what you think...

This is one of the best sci-fi series I have seen in a long time. Someone did a lot of research and invention behind it. With the technology we have now and what is quickly becoming available I can see that an expedition of this sort is not that far in the future, excepting for the alien presence and control of the experiences on board the ship. Not to say that something like it is not out there just that we have not yet found or experienced anything like it. The possibilities of a manned trip to Mars occurring in the next 10 t0 15 years, I believe will occur. And of course further exploration of our solar system will quickly ensue. It is not that much of a jump from a dream to a reality as science quickly finds newer and better ways of space exploration in propulsion and in protective advances for the crew involved in the trip. As I am in my late 60's I may not be around to see it but am certain my children and my grandchildren will. Are there other forms of intelligence out there that may be friendly or harmful to the human race, most surely there are. Would I like to see this? Of course I would. Would I like to see my children or grandchildren experience this? Again, yes of course I would. Would any of my Grandchildren or my brother's and sister's grandchildren like to be involved? Yes, I believe so and for 2 I am sure they will as they love science and exploration and have the acumen and physical abilities abilities to do so. I would love to know if they are going to continue this series and if so will it be made available on a U.S channel and when?

I was very disappointed when ABC dropped this seires without warning. The detialed back stories and cohesive plot line made Defying Gravity stand out among the remainder of what passes for good TV. It is a shame that the SyFy Channel did not pick up where the networks dropped the ball. Now we will never know how the series arc would have played out.
