Overview

When the stories of four strong, sassy, and sexy southern women running a fledgling interior decorating firm hit the television airwaves as Designing Women in 1986, they brought a new kind of southern spirit to American television. The much-married, alimony-rich, beauty queen Suzanne Sugarbaker (Delta Burke) uses her feminine wiles to attract business for the firm and future ex-husbands for herself. Her sophisticated sister, Julia (Dixie Carter), is nobody's fool and runs the operation -- and her own life -- with a guarded graciousness. Mary Jo Shively (Annie Potts), the sweet-natured, recently divorced mother is a decorator trying to make her own way in the world for the first time. And Charlene Frazier (Jean Smart) is the naïve small-town overly-trusting bad guy magnet who runs the office. They are all devoted to the business and to each other. This set collects all 21 episodes from Season 1 (1986-7) that aired on CBS.

    "Aaaat Laaaaaaaaaast....."

I have been waiting FOREVER!! it seems, for this show to be released on DVD!! I have finally been reunited with those loveable characters!! There's a great reunion special, too, for a bonus feature - its a the Museum of Television and Radio (now called something else) and Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Annie Potts, and Jean Smart come together with Linda Bloodworth to discuss the show and some of their favorite moments! I bought this the day it was released and have played it over and over ever since!!!
