Overview

All of Disney's most beloved princesses join together for one unforgettable enchanted evening in this release that offers the familiar holiday songs and stories with a few exciting surprises. Arielle, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, and Snow White are all here, and they've brought along a healthy dose of holiday cheer. If anyone can cheer up the grouchy Beast it's Belle, and after Ariel reads a touching tale about her first Christmas, Aurora offers her own unique interpretation of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." Before the lights go out on this all-star holiday spectacular, all of the Disney princesses join together for an all-new song celebrating the magic of the Christmas season.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Snow White -- each accompanied by her prince -- host this gala program of Christmas songs, stories, and cartoons. Mainly comprising repurposed or recycled animation, this is clearly one for the little ladies, not for animation purists. For example, a clip of Sleeping Beauty’s charming “I Know You” sequence is here rescored to the “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy.” “The Twelve Days of Christmas” has been rewritten to be Disney Princess-specific (four storybooks for Belle, five emerald rings for Jasmine, etc.), and is accompanied by images from each Princess's films. Fantastia 2000’s “The Steadfast Tin Soldier” segment is a highlight, as are two vintage cartoons, “The Cookie Carnival” and “Once Upon a Wintertime.” The longest segment is an excerpt from The Enchanted Christmas, in which Belle brings the joy of Christmas to the Beast’s castle. As with others in this Princess line, there is an interactive game; in this case, a “Magic Wand Playing Mode” that allows viewers trim a Christmas tree via remote control.

This is a hash of recycled material, poorly dubbed and still frames from the movies with voice over narrations. The only new "animation" (and I use the term loosely) looks like still-computer frames with moving lips animated by a third rate website designer. My daughter was terribly disappointed. Disney spent more on the cover art and the commercials than they did the content. Avoid this travesty. Disney should be ashamed!

this movie fails my disney expectations. disney should produce much better stories than this. this makes cinderella two look wonderful, but really they fouled that one up also.

I am the last person who would criticize Disney!! Their Princess packaging was brilliant and really has my 3 year old daughter hooked!! However, this Christmas 'show' is just awful! The animation on this DVD is terrible - the characters are very stiff and poorly 'drawn' - and the stories, blech! It would be nice to see an actual story including all the princesses. Most of these animated shorts didn't even feature the Princesses, just introductions by them!! This DVD did not keep my daughter's interest (by the way, she will sit through all of The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and many other full length kids movies). What a waste!!

My daughters love this dvd. Buyers should be aware, though, that much of it consists of old cartoons introduced by princesses. I think that should have been clear, but my daughters still enjoy watching it and want to see it over and over again.
