Preparing for recovery from surgery, I was look for something to watch during the long days trapped inside. I came upon Doc Martin by chance as I was looking for somthing funny that I hadn't scene before. I can tell you that Doc Martin filled the bill. The story of a brillant surgen, who leaves London for Cornwall,I won't tell you why, to take the job as the local GP. Doc ends up in a small town where everyone knows everyone and there are many eccentric, loveable characters. Enhancing the program is the scenary of the Cornwall coast, it's a feast for the eyes.

Love, Love, LOVE this series!!! I was looking for something else to watch after finishing seasons 1 & 2 of Downton Abbey when a customer recommended this to me. I was hooked in the 1st 10 minutes & have already watched all episodes thru Season 4. I've actually been to Port Isaac where it is filmed, which added to my delight. As I said: a MUST for us Anglophiles!

I bought Series 1 and after I watched it I couldn't wait to see the others so I ordered on line. The entire series was outstanding. The characters were wonderful, the acting was excellent, and the stories were very entertaining. I enjoyed it so much that I was sorry to see it end. I would really like to see this series continue. I enjoyed it so much that I will probably watch again.

The scenery is phenomenal, the characters are lovable, individualistic, even a bit weird, and the doc fits that pretty closely, himself. His personality is dry (and that's a Brit understatement), blunt, (not over-stated) but still lovable. He is quite a good diagnosticin, but with the beside manner of a slug. The locals come to love him, very slowly, but still love him. He will probably do the same. I've seen only series 1 and 2 and am looking forward to 3 and 4. Wish it were available immediately,I'd order it. It's a "wait until April 2011" order right now. Not good. I guess I'll just buy them season by season.
