Barnes & Noble - Christina UrbanLittle Paris snaps at anyone who comes near him. Ava chases her tail constantly. And Julius, a formidable pit bull, is afraid...of everything. Who can save these problem pooches? Cesar Millan, the "dog whisperer" to the stars, of course. Considered the Dr. Phil of the canine set, Millan grew up on his grandfather's ranch and from an early age showed a remarkable ability at training problem dogs. He came to the U.S. and opened the Dog Psychology Center in Los Angeles, and word quickly spread of his unique training approach for hard-to-handle canines. Millan’s reputation earned him celebrity clients and an appearance on Oprah, and a series of his soon followed. The Dog Whisperer debuted on the National Geographic Channel in 2005, and the 25 episodes follow Millan’s efforts to rehabilitate problem dogs -- and their owners. Most of the time these naughty pups need nothing more than an owner who is willing to devote time to proper training. Then again, sometimes these dogs are simply riddled with neuroses, such as the easily spooked Brooks, who is driven crazy by the sight of shadows. Millan's methodology is quite remarkable to watch, especially when he's able to save a beloved family pet from being put down after biting someone.

Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan - Season 1 based on 0 ratings. 8 reviews.
Since I don't have cable and don't watch TV but do have dogs with issues, this DVD set was worth every penny. Season 1 shows Cesar just starting his career in TV dogland, and his talent shows through in each story. He and his clients are honest, it's clear as each show unfolds, and at times the stories can be heart-breaking. If you have a dog or dogs with issues, getting Season 1 is a good start on your way to true bonding with your pet. But don't stop there! Season 2 and 3 have new and interesting stories that will keep you glued to the tube. PS: If you buy Season 1, 2, and 3, you'll see all the stories that have been broken into the separate Dog Whisperer DVDs (i.e., Celebrity, Dog Makeovers, Aggression, etc.).
What a pure pleasure to watch this gifted psychic for pooches in action. Cesar Millan can turn any dogs' negative behavior around in a matter of minutes in most cases. He can think like a dog, communicate mentally with any dog, and they all respect him immediately as their "pack leader" and do what he wants them to do almost immediately. Cesar tames even the most aggressive dogs that everyone else feels should be put down, and he has 40 or so of them living harmoniously together with him. He's just AMAZING! A truly loving advocate for canines. The Southern California area is so very blessed to have Cesar Millan.
Every episode is better than the one before. Dogs everywhere will have a better life because of the principles taught by Cesar Millan. Never before has anyone made training our dogs so simple and so understandable. Now there's no reason that every dog can't be a pleasure to live with, and Cesar shows us how. I have been telling everyone I know about Cesar ever since I watched the first episode and thank goodness word has spread and he is going strong helping more and more pooches with their People problems. Thank you Cesar from Canines everywhere. Worth every penny you spend for this kind of knowledge. I can't wait for many more seasons to come.
We went to obedience classes with our dog, read books, got advices from multiple Certified Dog Trainers - lots of money wasted - and none of them put together gave as much control over our dog's behavior as this set of DVD, for an extremely modest price, I must add. If you desperate, think nothing could help your dog, veterinarians tell you to euthanize your dog - consider this DVD. It just might save your dog's life.
a great guide to all dog lovers and breeders alike. also to people without dogs just to understand the dog behaviour and psychology.
