Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Nickelodeon's bilingual heroine celebrates the holiday season with this spirited collection. Dora and her friend Boots the monkey climb over the snowy mountains and across the icy river to the North Pole. Dora's got a present for Santa, but she will need help from Map, Backpack, and alert viewers to complete tasks that will advance the journey and enable her to deliver the present on time. Even Swiper the fox has the holiday spirit -- he grabs the gift but returns it when he learns it is for Santa. This 25-minute episode ends on a happy note as Santa (voiced by Esai Morales) and his elves join Dora for a rousing rendition of "Feliz Navidad." As an added present, this video also includes another Dora interactive adventure, in which Dora's fastest friend, Tico, must race to the top of Snowy Mountain to retrieve Boots's toy fire truck before Swiper makes off with it. The DVD contains two bonus episodes, "School Pet" and "Quack! Quack!".

Wonderful DVD - English and Spanish versions, like 8 shows on one DVD

My daughter loves this DVD; I believe it is her favorite out of all of the Dora videos. I was happily surprised when I pressed the Setup option. I chose Spanish for audio and voila...the 4 episodes that we had been watching for months in English appeared in Spanish. It was Dora la Exploradora. Since my daughter has the English version memorized, what a wonderful way to learn Spanish. She watched 2 episodes in Spanish without protesting. She looked a little fazed at first since Dora had a different sound, but she watched it anyway. So, this video is like getting 8 videos on one DVD. Well worth the money. I haven't noticed this option on the other Dora DVDs, but I haven't really looked for it. It was by a fluke that I discovered the Spanish option. I will check out the other videos, I hope NIck Jr. continues to offer this option. It is a great learning tool.
