Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Few things can tickle a preschooler's fancy as effectively as a nursery rhyme or a silly riddle. In "Dora Had a Little Lamb," the first of two especially fun episodes from Nickelodeon's award-winning animated series, Dora and Boots enter the Big Book of Nursery Rhymes to help reunite a lost lamb with Mary. Along the way, they encounter such beloved characters as the mice who ran up the clock, Jack B. Nimble, Peter Piper, good egg Humpty Dumpty, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider. In "Call Me Mr. Riddles," Dora and Boots must riddle their way across Troll Bridge and answer the call of Knock-Knock Door before they can proceed to Tall Mountain's Silliest Riddle contest. As with Blue's Clues, this series encourages shout-outs from home viewers, helping them to stay focused on each individual learning challenge -- and with Map to show the way, and repetition of instructions, there is a fostered sense of accomplishment that makes these episodes more than one-watch wonders.

Dora the Explorer DVD Rhymes & Riddles

My granddaughter loved this DVD and wanted to watch time after time. She loves the characters and is learning the childhood nursery rhymes as well as listening. It can "take her away" to a different world.
