Overview

A lazy afternoon in the neighborhood leads to the discovery that anyone can be a creative musician when they put their mind to it in this Dragon Tales release featuring fifteen animated sing-along songs. With a house full of restless kids and no activities planned, Nina the babysitter suggests that the kids burn a bit of energy by starting a band. Though they have no instruments to speak of, a little creativity can go a long way in the world of music. Now, as the young ones clap, stomp, and sing their way through the afternoon, the Dragon Tales characters will make a special appearance in the human world to join in on the musical celebration.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Get ready to "Shake Your Dragon Tail" to this very special 41-minute episode that combines live-action with animated musical segments from the Parents' Choice Award-winning PBS series. More than 15 Dragon Tunes inspires one neighborhood's children to start a band and make their own music by clapping their hands, stomping their feet, pounding on percussion instruments, and using their voices. They get some help from their babysitter Nina, a drummer named Harry, and singers Dan Zanes and Erykah Badu. Emmy, Max, and the dragons from Dragon Land also make an appearance. Some of this plays like a not-so-magic infomerical for Dragon Tales ("Everyone watches Dragon Tales, one child says to the camera). But as Zanes states at one point, "People playing music have the most fun." Young fans will consider this their own "Dragon Land Bandstand." Rate it a 10: It's good a good beat, and you can "Doodli-Do" to it.
